Phil Wentworth is a professional musician, based in the Forest of Dean, who started playing piano at the age of 7 years, trumpet at 8 years, organ at 11 years and guitar in his teens.

He was once the youngest player in the Championship Section National Brass Band Finals in the Albert Hall in London and has now been teaching people ranging from 4 to 86 years old in Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire & Herefordshire, both in schools & privately in their own homes for over 30 years.

Phil has been a member of the music staff at Monmouth Haberdashers Boys' School since 1983, where he teaches mainly guitar. He is also a member of the R.G.T., holds the F.A.E.T.C. and teaches piano, bass guitar, electronic keyboards, organ and trumpet, catering for all styles of music from classical to heavy rock, including theory of music.

He also has a rare ability to instantly transcribe songs from CDs etc for pupils.

Phil has played in rock & pop & dance bands, orchestras, churches, etc, for hundreds of different functions over the years and for eight years, in addition to teaching, he led the worship team at the Forest of Dean Community Church before moving to Longhope Baptists in early 2014.

Some of his ex-pupils are quite well known in the world of music, whilst others have started their own music businesses.
